Created as a nurturing sanctuary, at Sambodhi Yoga Retreat, we help you to feel as comfortable, connected and relaxed as possible, providing you with opportunity to disconnect from technology and tune into the natural rhythms within.

Home is where we feel safe, supported, cherished and loved. When we practice Yoga, we start to feel at home within ourselves. We find that home can exist wherever we are in the world.

Sambodhi Yoga Retreat – Beach Center (Earlier named as Ananda Beach Home) is surrounded by a pristine lush green coconut grove and with a quiet and serene secluded beach at Thumpoly. It is next to the Alleppey beach, and before Marari beach nestled in a lush green coconut grove and with a quiet and serene secluded beach.

Sambodhi Yoga Retreat campus,is adjacent to Pozhiyoram Beach Resort, and we have total of 9 Rooms out of this five, are traditional kerala cottage rooms, and four private rooms. All cottage Rooms have verandah were few cottages having semi-open to sky bathroom. Cafe Buddha Hut serves simple traditional cuisine while you enjoy the panoramic view of ocean and estuary. Another boundary is shared with Colonel’s Beach Villa were they have 6 Rooms. We only host one group at a time, so you have the property exclusively, and we require a group of 15 paying guests to book the center, however we can hold up to 30 guests sharing with adjacent villa.

Our shaded yoga shala offers a peaceful place to relax, recharge and feel rejuvenated after a yoga or meditation session. We have a beautiful garden which we tend to each day with many blossoming flowers and vegetable patches where we grow local vegetables to make our cooking even fresher. There is also a bonfire area for relaxation in the evenings with live music, surrounded by the coconut trees.

Cottage Rooms

Our Cottages at Sambodhi Yoga Retreat are designed to blend beautifully with the breathtaking natural surroundings. Our Beach Cottage have beautiful natural panoramic view or sea view overlooking Thumpoly beach, and you can choose between a Traditional Kerala Cottage, with partial views of the Arabian Sea, or Garden Cottage, which is quieter at night with its peaceful garden setting.

Our cottages are mostly made from local sustainable materials. Each cottage has its own private veranda, Double/Twin bed and rack to hang your clothes. In our some cottages, our en-suite, eco friendly bathrooms consist of a toilet and a shower under the sky.

The cottages at our property are built in Traditional Kerala Architecture with Mangalore tiled roof, with Floors are made of Natural Mud Tiles.

Our Cottages are designed to help you reconnect with nature. Whether watching the Dolphins swim in the sea or the eagles soar overhead from the hammock, or falling asleep to the sound of the waves, the normal stresses of life melt away and you will feel open to a more profound yoga practice.

Yoga Center

The resort has a yoga center called the “Bamboo House”, were up to 24 persons can perform yoga together. This can be converted as amphitheater for cultural performances.

The grove has a Kalithattu ( Cabana) were  you can dine/watch cultural programs also been dotted with platforms, lawns, beach cots and cozy hammocks. The beach center also organizes Kayaking tour/Shikara/Motor boat tour in Backwaters,  and for the more local explore/nature loving ones, we arrange friendly Auto Rickshaw (Tuk – Tuk)  to discover the region on your own.

 Living Healthy with Ayurveda

The Retreat has Ayurveda center with a consulting doctor, highly experienced in Ayurveda treatments. The consultation our Ayurveda doctor will ask your medical history and do the examination based on Ayurveda. Based on this our doctor will try to analyze the imbalanced dosha, discover the body’s constitution and plan the treatment for specific conditions to remove the accumulated toxins and plan your diet also according to the imbalance.

We can arrange Ayurvedic massage, Doctor Consultations for our guests at the resort/ nearby Ayurvedic Health Centre.

Food and Dining at Sambodhi Yoga Retreat – Buddha Hut: Organic Cafe

Continental Breakfast Included in your room tariff. Lunch and Candle lit dinner on your request. Dining room is a relaxed, informal space at our Buddha Hut where the emphasis is placed on fresh food, and as far possible organic in nature. The room celebrates the unique environment of panoramic view of the natural wonder, in its colors and furnishings and its stunning view of the estuary. The dining space is available to both in-house and outside guests.

CANDLE LIGHT DINNERS ON THE COCONUT GROVE

This is one of the most romantic dining experiences you can have for the evening dinner time. The green lawn under the coconut canopy is a beautiful and memorable experience. The chirruping of the birds, the echo of the waves, the cool sea breeze and the live music on request will make this experience stand out in your heart for long…
